Our
Mission
CECHE's
MISSION is to educate families,
childcare providers and all those concerned
with the well-being of children about the link between
children's health and development and exposure to indoor
toxins.

Hidden Exposures All Parents Need to Know."
"Although windows of vulnerability exist throughout the stages of life
leading up to adulthood, the prenatal period and early
childhood represent critical periods where exposure is
more likely to lead to delayed, permanent or lifelong
health impacts."

CECHE’s VISION:
- A world where
children enjoy the healthiest of indoor
environments, free from exposure to toxic chemicals.
- To be recognized nationally and internationally as
a center of excellence for education with respect to
the link between children’s health and indoor air
quality.
- To empower parents
and childcare providers to take positive action to
improve the environments where children live and
receive care.
- To act as an
information resource for childcare providers and
families.
- To disseminate
information on children’s health and the link to
indoor air quality through conferences, public
forums and the world wide web.
"When an activity raises threats of harm to human health
or the environment, precautionary measures should be
taken even if some cause and effect relationships are
not fully established scientifically."
Wingspread Statement on the Precautionary Principle,
Science and Environmental Health Network,
January 1998.
“The
lead story also illustrates how time-consuming the
process of addressing deep-seated problems can be. The
legacy of 20th century industrial growth and change
includes a staggering number of chemicals. Society does
not have the time or resources available to study each
chemical in the way that lead was studied, nor can we
postpone action until we are sure of their effects.”

Partnership For Children’s Health & Environment, 2005
